Intertwined

Intertwined was inspired by shadow boxes, lockets, and Victorian-era pill boxes. The main structure is fabricated from copper, while the front plate from which the trees are cut out is (nugold) brass sheet. There is a stone cabochon set behind the trees to serve as the moon in a night sky. When held up to a light source, the Taurus star constellation is revealed and the moon becomes illuminated. The piece was antiqued with liver of sulfur to add to the hammer texture of the sky and the depth of the braids.
